Kramer’s Korner

Hello again all my friends and followers.  Kramer here with a little more about what’s going on in my world, which I’m afraid isn’t much.  It has been so cold, Bob has made our walks, how should I say this, brisk and brief.  I’ll have to admit that, even with my fleece coat on, when you are only scale the pavement at about six inches, the southern extremes tend to get a tad frosty if you know what I mean.

Bob has been after me to get my blog posts written a little more quickly.  He said that what with introducing his new photography blog called Inklings at poormanspoet.wordpress.com, and continuing to write his regular Oldmainer blog, he needs more time to develop and edit his stuff.  I should protest because if you look at the stats, my page normally has many more readers then any of his.  It sounds like maybe he should be getting me my own computer.  And, as you can see from the picture, not unlike a computer, I also have to be frequently re-booted.  (For those of you that are not familiar with canine humor, or are marginally computer literate, that was a pun. Everyone at the kennel loved it.  Even a couple of cats smiled.)

Well, yesterday, I accepted another invitation to dinner at Vern’s house, and this time, to avoid further embarrassment, he also invited Bob.  At first Bob said no because he is still on his Keto diet and Vern likes to cook.  I mean REALLY likes to cook.  What he can do with a smoker or grille should require a license.  But here’s the kind of guy he is.  He said he would cook a Keto friendly dinner.  Everything he planned to prepare would be foods Bob could eat. I of course became a little nervous because I am not on a Keto diet and I normally assist Vern in the kitchen as a taste tester.  However, we had to postpone the dinner asVern has a friend that lives downstairs that owns a pizza restaurant.  Turns out three patrons tested positive for Covid and his friend was in contact with them.  So Vern instead had to go and get tested.

Bob is still sparring with Sophie about her scratching the carpet.  I think it is about round four and Sophie is winning on points. Bob is still moving the little rug around and Sophie is still either scratching it up in a ball, or just going somewhere else. Last night, Bob sat up in bed about two in the morning because he could hear her scratching.  He yelled at her from the top of the stairs, but, of course, she is getting deaf and didn’t hear him, so he had to go down. I went with him because I didn’t want to miss anything. However, by the time we got there, Sophie was curled up in the kitchen. Chalk up one more round for her.  I swear, as we were going back upstairs, that I heard her chuckling.

Bob bought me a new leash. It is reflective, so when we walk at night it is easier to see me.  My coat is also reflective so I feel pretty safe.  However, Bob said the day is coming (not fast enough) that I won’t need a coat anymore, so he also sprung for a new reflective collar, and, get this, it has my name and phone number on it.  Talk about up town. I haven’t got it yet, but it should be here this week. Bob also has his own reflective suspenders, so we are a matched set.

Well, I guess that’s about it.  Until next time, this is Kramer saying keep a smile on your face and a treat in your pocket, and, to all my still homeless friends, I’m rooting for you.  It will happen.

See Ya

Kramer

About oldmainer

I am a retired manager living in Southern Maine and a would be writer of poetry, narratives, short stories, and random opinions, and that's how Oldmainer was born. Recently, I decided to try an experiment. I added photography to the mix, using only a cheap cell phone with a limited camera and the editing software that came with it, and added the blog site Inklings at poormanspoet.wordpress.com to showcase the results. So, feel free to use whatever you find interesting or worthy, but please honor the terms of my copyright when and if you do. They may not be much, but they are still a piece of me. I appreciate your checking me out and hope that you find something that will encourage a return visit. Thanks for stopping by.

No. Strictly for safety. However, now that you mention it, he IS close to dropping another pant size. He is already down one. I’m afraid one day I will look around and he will be gone.🐕
