With These Hands

With these hands
I can sow the seeds of wonder
And harvest knowledge

With these hands
I can touch the world
And create my universe

With these hands
I can catch a tear
And offer comfort

With these hands
I can give of me
Embrace my brothers

With these hands
I can raise the flag of freedom
Defend a nation

With these hands
I can punctuate a smile
And offer hope

With these hands
I can capture a star
Or grasp the moon

With these hands
I can nurture peace
And assuage fear

With these hands
I can abide today
And shape tomorrow

With these hands
I can pray
And touch the face of God

About oldmainer

I am retired and live in southern Maine with my wife and two dogs of questionable origin. I created this blog as an outlet for my occasional opinions and random observations since my wife is tired of hearing them and, after 50 some odd years, probably with good reason. I appreciate your checking me out and hope that you find something that will encourage a return visit. Thanks for stopping by.

About oldmainer

I am a retired manager living in Southern Maine and a would be writer of poetry, narratives, short stories, and random opinions. While I tell myself that I write for my own pleasure, I in fact write for yours. As such, I hope that I put to paper a few scribblings that you might enjoy. If so, feel free to use them, but please honor the terms of my copyright when and if you do. They may not be much, but they are still a piece of me. I appreciate your checking me out and hope that you find something that will encourage a return visit. Thanks for stopping by.
