When I was a boy, among my makeshift toys were little airplanes made out of balsa wood.  The simplest ones simply had wings and a tail that fit into slots.  You would just throw it into the air and with any luck at all, it would at least go a few feet.  More often then not however, it would do one majestic loop and crash to the ground.  If you were extremely fortunate it would last several of these flights, or 15 minutes, whichever came first.  I remember graduating to a deluxe model that came with a propeller and a rubber band which you wound up and released into the air.  These were a little more aerodynamically sound, but normally met the same fate as their stripped down counterparts.  Y

It was, therefore, with some amazement that I watched the following video.  The model airplane is powered by electric, reversible props.  I have never seen anything airborne that can replicate this performance.  It almost defies the laws of flight.  And, it does it all choreographed to music.   Enjoy.

About oldmainer

I am a retired manager living in Southern Maine and a would be writer of poetry, narratives, short stories, and random opinions, and that's how Oldmainer was born. Recently, I decided to try an experiment. I added photography to the mix, using only a cheap cell phone with a limited camera and the editing software that came with it, and added the blog site Inklings at to showcase the results. So, feel free to use whatever you find interesting or worthy, but please honor the terms of my copyright when and if you do. They may not be much, but they are still a piece of me. I appreciate your checking me out and hope that you find something that will encourage a return visit. Thanks for stopping by.

Awesome video. I wonder how many children today would be content with playing with simple toys.
