Fractured Fairy Tale

Once upon a time, it’s told
In a castle on a hill
Lived a lonely Princess
Alas, she lives there still

It seems that her prince charming
Left her to opine
About her unrequited love
Left dying on the vine

She summonsed her court wizard
Advised him of her plight
Asked him if he’d conjure up
A prince that very night

She told him that Rapunzel
Cinderella and Snow White
Had handsome princes courting them
And she fancied her own knight

The mystic mixed his formulas
Brewed up a mighty spell
And conjured up a courtesan
To woo the lonesome belle

He chanted magic passages
And madly waived his wand
Until at last, when finished
A suitor had been spawned

Later on that evening
As fair maiden paced the floor
She heard a tap tap tapping
On her chamber door

At once, her heart was pounding
As she flew across the room
A look of joy upon her face
Her lonely heart abloom

She yanked open the portal
And there before her stood
The suitor that the wizard sent
The results were not too good

“How ya doin darlin”
“Pucker up, give me a peck”
“I understand you need a man”
“By the way, my name is Shreck”

The moral of the story is
Your chance at love might fail
If perchance you find yourself
In the wrong fairy tale

Hey.  Don’t blame me.  I can’t be responsible for the “Happily Ever After” thing.
